Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak or sirloin thinly sliced against the grain
- 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
- ¼ cup coconut aminos or low-sodium soy sauce/tamari
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated or minced
- ¼ cup beef broth
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 –2 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
- ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes optional
- ¼ tsp xanthan gum optional, for thickening
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Sliced green onions or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat olive or avocado oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Sear sliced beef in batches until browned (about 1–2 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
- Add a bit more oil if needed, then sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3–5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
- Return beef to the pan. Add coconut aminos, beef broth, and sesame oil. Stir well.
- For a thicker sauce, sprinkle in xanthan gum and simmer for 1–2 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.
- Serve hot, optionally over cauliflower rice or shirataki noodles.
Notes
- Use fresh broccoli for best texture; if using frozen, thaw and dry before cooking.
- Flank steak, sirloin, or skirt steak all work well when sliced thin.
- Add mushrooms, bell peppers, or zucchini for variety.
- For a touch of sweetness, add monk fruit sweetener or rice vinegar.
- Easily meal-prepped and reheated—perfect for busy days.
