Chicken Skewer Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes Use fresh chicken for best results.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Can substitute with another cooking oil.
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder Adds robust flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked or sweet) Choose based on preference.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Enhances flavor profile.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Adjust based on preference.
  • Skewers (wooden or metal) If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix the cubed chicken with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • Thread the marinated chicken onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece.
  • Set your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and let it preheat for about 5 minutes.

Cooking

  • Place the skewers in the air fryer basket, making sure they aren’t overcrowded. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure that the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Serving

  • Once cooked, remove the skewers from the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve hot with dipping sauce.

Notes

Try different variations such as veggie and chicken skewers or teriyaki chicken skewers. Ensure chicken is at room temperature before cooking for even results.
