Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples and pears. Sprinkle with half of the brown sugar and mix to coat.
  • In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, remaining brown sugar, cinnamon, softened butter, and a pinch of salt. Mix until crumbly.

Assembly and Baking

  • Pour the fruit mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Spread the oat mixture evenly over the fruit.
  • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.

Serving

  • Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes
