- Essential Ingredients:
- 1 –2 shots espresso or ½ cup strong brewed coffee
- ¾ cup milk whole, skim, or plant-based: oat, almond, soy
- 2 tbsp caramel brulée syrup store-bought or homemade
- Whipped cream for topping
- 1 tsp sugar for brulée topping
- Optional Additions:
- Pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg
- Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder
- Extra caramel drizzle
Step 1: Espresso
Pull 1–2 shots of espresso ½ cup of strong coffee using your preferred method.
Step 2: Steam Milk
Heat milk to around 150°F (65°C) and froth to your desired texture. Avoid scalding.
Step 3: Add Caramel Syrup
Pour caramel brulée syrup into your cup first.
Step 4: Combine Espresso and Milk
Pour the espresso into the cup with syrup, then add steamed milk. Stir gently to mix.
Step 5: Top with Whipped Cream
Add a generous swirl of whipped cream on top.
Step 6: Caramelize Sugar
Sprinkle sugar over whipped cream and caramelize with a kitchen torch to create the signature brulée crust.
Tip: If you don’t have a torch, use a broiler or hot spoon carefully.
