- 1 lb ground beef 80/20 for best flavor
- 8 oz pasta elbow macaroni or rotini
- 2 cups shredded cheese cheddar, mozzarella, or mixed
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup or tomato sauce for variation
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 onion diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- Salt pepper, and Italian seasoning, to taste
- Optional Add-ins:
- Diced tomatoes
- Green bell peppers
- Chili flakes for heat
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Cook pasta until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a skillet, brown the ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain excess grease.
Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and seasonings. Simmer for a few minutes.
Layer half the pasta, half the beef mixture, and cheese in the baking dish. Repeat layers.
Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
