  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, cream softened butter and shredded cheddar until smooth.
  • Stir in flour, salt, and cayenne pepper until a dough forms.
  • Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to create an indentation in each ball.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes or until edges begin to brown.
  • Immediately after baking, press centers again if puffed.
  • Fill each center with a small spoonful of hot pepper jelly.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.
