  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil For cooking.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • To taste salt and pepper

Preparation

  • Prep the Ingredients: Ensure all your ingredients are prepped. Slice the beef and onions, and mince the garlic and ginger.
  • Marinate the Beef: Toss the sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for about 10 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat the Oil: In a large wok or skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  • Stir-Fry the Beef: Add the marinated beef in a single layer to the hot pan. Sear for about 2 minutes without stirring, then stir it continuously for another 2-3 minutes or until browned. Remove the beef from the pan.
  • Cook the Onions: In the same pan, add more oil if needed, and toss in the sliced onions. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until they become translucent and slightly caramelized.
  • Combine Ingredients: Add the minced garlic and ginger to the onions and cook for an additional minute.
  • Finish the Dish: Return the beef to the pan with the onions and stir everything together for about 2 more minutes. Adjust seasonings with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Serve the stir-fry over a bed of rice or noodles.
