Ingredients

2–3 ripe bananas (firm, slightly yellow, not mushy)

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1–2 tsp granulated sugar (or to taste)

1 tsp lemon juice (optional, to prevent browning)

Olive oil spray or coconut oil spray

Instructions

  • Peel and slice bananas into thin rounds (about 1/8 inch thick).
  • (Optional) Soak slices in water with lemon juice for 5–10 minutes to reduce browning.
  • Drain and pat dry thoroughly with paper towels.
  • Lightly spray both sides of banana slices with oil.
  • In a small bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle mixture over both sides of the slices.
  • Place banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t overlap.
  • Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
  • Cool completely before serving or storing — they’ll crisp up more as they cool.

Notes

  • Use coconut sugar for a more natural sweetener.
  • For a sugar-free version, omit sugar and use just cinnamon.
  • Add nutmeg, pumpkin spice, or cayenne for flavor variations.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
  • To re-crisp, air fry at 300°F for 2–3 minutes.
