Ingredients
  

  • For the Dough:
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet instant yeast 2 ¼ teaspoons
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water
  • Shortcut: use 1 lb store-bought pizza dough if desired
  • For the Pizza:
  • ½ cup pizza sauce homemade or jarred
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Olive oil for skillet
  • Toppings of choice: pepperoni mushrooms, bell peppers, spinach, olives, basil, etc.

Instructions
 

  • Make the Dough
  • Mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  • Add warm water and olive oil; stir until dough forms.
  • Knead on a floured surface for 6–8 minutes until smooth.
  • Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour until doubled.
  • Prepare the Skillet
  • Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • Brush cast iron skillet lightly with olive oil.
  • Punch down dough, stretch to fit skillet.
  • Assemble Pizza
  • Spread pizza sauce evenly over dough.
  • Add mozzarella cheese and chosen toppings.
  • Sprinkle with parmesan.
  • Cook & Bake
  • Heat skillet on stovetop over medium heat for 3–4 minutes (to crisp bottom).
  • Transfer skillet to oven; bake 12–15 minutes until cheese bubbles and crust is golden.
  • Cool & Serve
  • Let rest 2–3 minutes, slice, and serve hot.

  • Preheat skillet for an extra-crispy crust.
  • Avoid too many toppings to prevent sogginess.
