Ingredients

  • 8 oz 225 g cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup cranberry sauce or ¾ cup fresh/frozen cranberries cooked and sweetened
  • 2 –3 tbsp sugar honey, or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Optional Add-Ons:
  • 1 tsp orange zest for a bright citrus note
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract for depth and warmth
  • 2 tbsp chopped nuts pecans or walnuts for crunch

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Ingredients:
  • Allow cream cheese to soften at room temperature for 10–15 minutes.
  • If using fresh cranberries, cook them with sugar and a splash of water until they soften and burst, then cool slightly.
  • Mix the Spread:
  • In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese and your chosen sweetener.
  • Fold in the cranberries — mash lightly for a chunky texture or blend fully for a smooth spread.
  • Stir in optional orange zest, vanilla extract, or chopped nuts.
  • Chill and Serve:
  • Chill the mixture for 15–30 minutes to let the flavors meld.
  • Serve spread over bagels, toast, crackers, or pastries.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness to taste by adding more or less honey/maple syrup.
  • For a vegan option, use plant-based cream cheese and agave syrup.
