- For the Beef:
- 500 g lean beef sirloin or flank steak
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- For the Sauce:
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1- inch ginger minced
- 1–2 red chillies finely chopped
- 1 tsp honey or brown sugar optional
- For Cooking & Garnish:
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
- Spring onions sliced
- Sesame seeds
- Fresh coriander optional
Slice beef thinly against the grain. Toss with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Heat oil in a wok or pan over high heat until hot.
Fry beef in small batches until golden and crispy. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
In a separate pan, sauté garlic, ginger, and chillies for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and honey. Simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Toss the crispy beef in the sauce until coated.
Garnish with spring onions, sesame seeds, and coriander. Serve immediately.
