Ingredients

  • Main Ingredients:
  • 6 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or almond bark
  • 1 cup strawberry cake mix or ½ cup freeze-dried strawberries crushed
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 10 Golden Oreos or shortbread cookies roughly crushed
  • Optional Add-Ins:
  • ½ cup pink or red candy melts for extra color
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • Seasonal sprinkles Valentine’s, birthday, etc.

Instructions

  • Melt Chocolate:
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips or almond bark in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  • Make Strawberry Coating:
  • In a separate bowl, mix the strawberry cake mix (or crushed freeze-dried strawberries) with the powdered sugar.
  • Coat Cereal:
  • Place Chex cereal in a large bowl. Pour the melted chocolate over the cereal and gently mix to coat evenly.
  • Shake in Powder:
  • Transfer the coated cereal to a large zip-top bag or lidded container. Add the strawberry-powdered sugar mix. Seal and shake until fully coated.
  • Add Extras:
  • Gently stir in the crushed cookies, mini marshmallows, and sprinkles if using.
  • Cool & Serve:
  • Spread the mixture on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving or storing.

Notes

  • Tip: Crush cookies into small chunks, not crumbs, for better texture.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4–5 days.
  • Chocolate Tip: Avoid overheating white chocolate—it can seize. Stir frequently while melting.
  • Make Ahead: You can prepare this snack 1–2 days in advance for parties or gifting.
