Ingredients
  

  • Essentials:
  • 1 –2 inches fresh ginger root peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups water
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 –2 tsp honey or maple syrup, to taste
  • Optional Enhancements:
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder + pinch black pepper
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Fresh mint leaves
  • Pinch of crushed red pepper for extra warmth

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Ginger
  • Slice fresh ginger thinly for maximum flavor.
  • Simmer
  • Place ginger slices in a small saucepan with water.
  • Simmer gently over medium heat for 10–15 minutes. Avoid boiling to prevent bitterness.
  • Strain
  • Pour the tea through a strainer into your favorite mug.
  • Add Lemon and Honey
  • Stir in lemon juice and honey (or maple syrup) to taste. Serve warm.
