Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add egg and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Gently fold in sprinkles and optional add-ins.
  • Scoop dough into balls, place on baking sheet, and slightly flatten.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set and centers remain soft.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before transferring to a rack.

  • Do not overbake to keep cookies soft and chewy.
  • Use jimmies-style sprinkles for best color retention.
  • Cream butter and sugar well for better texture.
  • Chill dough if needed for thicker cookies.
