Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons oat flour (or whole wheat flour) For added fiber
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder Your favorite brand
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk Or any milk of your choice
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup Or honey for sweetness
  • 1 dash vanilla extract

Optional Add-ins

  • to taste dark chocolate chips or nuts For extra indulgence

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large microwave-safe mug, combine the oat flour, cocoa powder, chocolate protein powder, and baking powder. Stir well to ensure an even distribution of the dry ingredients.
  • Pour in the almond milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix until you have a thick but smooth batter. If you’re adding chocolate chips or nuts, fold them in gently.

Cooking

  • Place your mug in the microwave and cook for about 1 to 1.5 minutes. Check at the one-minute mark. The cake should rise and look set, but a little gooeyness is okay.
  • Let it cool for a minute or two, then dig in! You might like to top it with some Greek yogurt or a dollop of nut butter for extra flavor.

Notes

For best results, avoid overcooking the cake. The texture may vary with different protein powders, so experiment to find what works best. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to two days and reheat as necessary.
