Ingredients
  

For the Donuts

  • 1 cup almond flour Use finely ground almond flour for best results.
  • 1/2 cup protein powder Choose your preferred flavor, such as chocolate or vanilla.
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder Unsweetened cocoa powder works best.
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup For sweetness; maple syrup can make it vegan.
  • 2 pieces eggs For binding; can be replaced with flaxseed meal for vegan option.
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder To help donuts rise.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.
  • 1/4 cup almond milk Adjust as needed for consistency.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For added flavor.

For the Glaze

  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate Chopped, for melting.
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil For a smooth glaze.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine almond flour, protein powder, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together honey (or maple syrup), eggs, almond milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until fully combined. Do not over-mix.
  • Lightly grease a donut-shaped baking pan and pour the batter into the molds, filling each about 3/4 full.

Cooking

  • Place the donut pan in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the donuts to cool for a few minutes before gently removing them from the pan.

Glazing

  • Melt dark chocolate and coconut oil together to make the glaze.
  • Dip each donut into the glaze and place them on a cooling rack.

Serving

  • Once the glaze has set, enjoy your healthy chocolate protein donuts!

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days or freeze for three months. Let them cool slightly before glazing for better adherence.
