  • 1/2 cup onions sliced
  • 1/2 cup carrots sliced
  • 1/2 cup broccoli florets

Instructions

  • Step 1 – Prep Ingredients
  • Slice steak into bite-sized strips.
  • Peel, devein, and pat dry the shrimp.
  • Mince garlic and cut vegetables into uniform pieces.
  • Step 2 – Marinate or Season
  • Lightly season steak with salt, black pepper, and a splash of soy sauce.
  • Toss shrimp with minced garlic and a drizzle of oil.
  • Optional: Marinate for 15–30 minutes to intensify flavor.
  • Step 3 – Cook the Steak
  • Preheat a skillet, cast iron pan, or flat-top grill over medium-high heat.
  • Sear steak until browned on all sides and cooked to your preferred doneness.
  • Remove steak from the pan and set aside.
  • Step 4 – Cook the Shrimp
  • In the same pan, add butter or sesame oil.
  • Sauté shrimp with garlic until pink and opaque (2–3 minutes per side).
  • Optional: Add a squeeze of lemon or lime for brightness.
  • Step 5 – Sauté Vegetables (Optional)
  • Cook vegetables in the same pan until tender-crisp.
  • Season lightly with soy sauce and garlic.
  • Step 6 – Combine and Serve
  • Return steak to the pan with shrimp and vegetables.
  • Toss briefly to coat everything in garlic butter sauce.
  • Serve immediately with steamed rice, fried rice, or noodles.

Notes

  • Use high heat to achieve a good sear without overcooking.
  • Avoid overcrowding the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
  • Add garlic late in cooking to prevent burning.
  • Butter or sesame oil creates the signature hibachi glaze.
  • Cast iron or heavy skillet ensures even searing; nonstick works in a pinch.
