  • 1 pound Fresh salmon fillets Wild-caught recommended for best flavor.
  • 1 orange (for both zest and juice)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 1–2 tablespoons Honey Adjust to taste.
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary, optional (for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, whisk together the juice of one orange, olive oil, honey, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let them soak for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

Cooking

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the marinated salmon onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for about 12–15 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  • Once cooked, remove the salmon from the oven and sprinkle with fresh herbs and zest from the remaining orange peel before serving.

Notes

Avoid overcooking for a tender texture. Experiment with other citrus varieties for different flavors. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for 2–3 months.
