Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta penne, fusilli, or rigatoni
  • 1 lb protein chicken, ground beef, sausage, or vegetarian alternative
  • 2 cups sauce tomato-based, creamy, or pesto
  • cups shredded cheese mozzarella, cheddar, or a mix
  • 1 cup vegetables bell peppers, spinach, mushrooms, optional
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • Salt pepper, and herbs (basil, oregano, thyme)
  • Optional Ingredients:
  • Garlic and onion for extra flavor
  • Red pepper flakes for a hint of spice
  • Breadcrumbs for a crunchy topping
  • Cream or milk for richer creamier texture
  • Tip: Slightly undercook pasta to prevent it from becoming mushy during baking.

Instructions
 

  • Step 1 — Cook the Pasta
  • Boil pasta in salted water until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Step 2 — Prepare the Sauce
  • Sauté onions, garlic, and vegetables until softened.
  • Cook your protein until browned and cooked through.
  • Stir in sauce and season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
  • Step 3 — Combine Pasta and Sauce
  • Mix cooked pasta with the prepared sauce and protein in a large bowl. Ensure even distribution.
  • Step 4 — Layer in a Baking Dish
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Transfer pasta mixture to a greased baking dish.
  • Top with shredded cheese and optional breadcrumbs.
  • Step 5 — Bake
  • Bake for 20–30 minutes until cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown.
  • Step 6 — Serve
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or basil. Serve hot with garlic bread, a side salad, or roasted vegetables.
