This Salted Caramel Hummus is a creamy, naturally sweet dessert dip made with chickpeas, maple syrup, and nut butter. Smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced with sea salt, this healthy salted caramel hummus is perfect for fruit, pretzels, or snack boards.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can 15 oz chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • ¼ cup creamy peanut butter or cashew butter
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • 2 tablespoons almond milk plus more if needed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon date paste optional, for deeper caramel flavor
  • Optional Toppings:
  • Caramel drizzle
  • Mini chocolate chips
  • Crushed pretzels
  • Extra sea salt

Instructions
 

  • Prep
  • Drain and rinse chickpeas thoroughly.
  • Pat dry slightly for smoother texture.
  • Blend
  • Add chickpeas, nut butter, maple syrup, almond milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt to a food processor.
  • Blend for 1–2 minutes until smooth.
  • Scrape down sides and blend again.
  • If too thick, add almond milk 1 tablespoon at a time until creamy.
  • Adjust Flavor
  • Taste and adjust sweetness or salt as needed.
  • Blend again briefly if adjustments are made.
  • Serve
  • Spoon into a bowl.
  • Top with caramel drizzle, chocolate chips, or crushed pretzels if desired.
  • Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Blend thoroughly for ultra-smooth texture.
  • Removing loose chickpea skins creates extra creaminess (optional).
  • Store in airtight container in refrigerator up to 5 days.
  • Stir before serving if thickened.
  • Not recommended for freezing.
