  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ½ cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Pizza
  • 1 pound pizza dough room temperature
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Optional toppings: diced onions sliced pickles, shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven to heat.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  • Drain excess grease. Stir in ketchup, tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Simmer for 3–5 minutes, until thick and saucy. Remove from heat.
  • Roll or stretch pizza dough into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to parchment paper.
  • Brush the outer edges lightly with olive oil.
  • Spread an even layer of Sloppy Joe mixture over the dough, leaving a small border.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly on top and add optional toppings if desired.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, until crust is golden and cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let rest for 3–5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Don’t overload the pizza with sauce—too much can make the crust soggy.
  • Let dough come to room temperature before stretching for best results.
  • Resting the pizza briefly helps the topping set before slicing.
