Step 1 – Prepare the Brownie Base
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper.
Mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
Add cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Mix until just combined.
Pour into pan and bake 25–30 minutes or until edges are set and center is slightly fudgy.
Allow brownies to cool completely.
Step 2 – Prep the Strawberries
Wash, hull, and slice strawberries.
Optional: Sprinkle lightly with sugar to release juices.
Step 3 – Make Shortcake Crumble
Mix crushed shortcake/biscuits with melted butter.
Stir until sandy and crumbly.
Step 4 – Assemble
Spread whipped cream or frosting over the cooled brownies.
Layer sliced strawberries evenly on top.
Sprinkle shortcake crumble generously over strawberries.
Chill the pan for 30–60 minutes for clean slicing.
