Sweet and Sticky Steak Bites are a quick and flavorful 20-minute dinner made with tender seared steak coated in a glossy sweet-and-savory garlic soy glaze. This easy skillet recipe is perfect for busy weeknights, parties, or when you crave a restaurant-quality meal at home.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb steak sirloin, ribeye, or strip, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari for gluten-free
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter for searing
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional Toppings:
  • Red pepper flakes for heat
  • Sesame seeds for crunch
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Prep the Steak – Pat steak dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  • Sear the Steak – Heat oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak in a single layer and sear 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Cook in batches if necessary. Remove steak and set aside.
  • Make the Sticky Sauce – In the same pan, reduce heat slightly. Add garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant. Stir in soy sauce and brown sugar or honey. Simmer for 1–2 minutes until thickened.
  • Combine & Finish – Return steak to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce. Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the skillet – cook in batches for best sear.
  • Adjust sweetness or saltiness to your taste before adding steak back in.
  • Reheat leftovers with a splash of water in the pan to loosen the sauce.
  • Great with rice, noodles, or veggies – or serve with toothpicks as an appetizer.
